Most of the players that are against this are just being cynical to stand out. And those that are trying to give the, "Be thankful Anet is letting us play for free" bid....stop kissing up. lol.
Everytime there is a new update I'm hoping its the npc stylist (which is a nice edition to the guild hall is made possibly so.). when its not its always to some pointless event such as the hero battles.
If anything anet should be a million times lucky players like me take some time to their games.

A content players is a new edition sold.
Anet know that.
This would make players as happy or even happier than with in-game template transfer...
And that was superb!

Make every currently customizable property customizable:
Hair style, hair color, face, HEIGHT, skin color, etc.
Adding new options would be great too.
15k hair ftw. Make the starting hair all the same price, but then over time add elite hair styles.
PS: Height is a biggy for me, because I made my first char as short as possible thinking that in PvP people would not see me or be able to click on me as well. That was dumb, I realize. However, not all the nice armor she has is hard to see. All my other chars are the tallest they can be, but it would be nice to be able to change that.

For it to be a moneysink, price must vary like armors:
Basic hairstyles/colors would be fairly cheap, but minimum maybe 5K
Exclusive hairstyles/colors would cost you a LOT, at least 50-100K.

50-100k for elite? Wow, someone's got a lot of money to spend!
I think 0.5-1.5k for regular, 5-15k for elite, and 50-100k for prestige.
Have 80% of styles in regular, 15% of styles in elite, and 5% more styles in prestige.

I absolutely love this idea and have written A-Net about it. I really hope that this will be implemented soon, seeing as I designed my character two years ago. What I thought looked "cool" two years ago was... different, to say the least.
So yeah.

You listening anet? From now on, every day that goes by without a stylist in the game I'm going to kill a kitten. I'll start with the ugly ones so you know I mean business, but pretty soon I'm going to start getting to the cute fluffy white ones.
Don't think I won't do it.

Aye
I stand close to the original thread post: hair (including facial) should be customisable.
I disagree with some of the suggestions on this page, for I find allowing changes in shape of face or character height going too far;
also 100K for hair change is absurd, as a haircut should be less expensive than an armor part (of which the crafting is a more elaborate work).

They should integrate all possible character customization features from all chapters into one option. Whether it should be a money sink, I'm more inclined to disagree but I don't really care as long as the option is there.

THey could even make you have 'appointments' (time limitations) so people do not abuse this...

Yes i think it would be cool to be able to change the hair, facial hair and accessories of the characters, but haven't anet said this won't be happening?
Mind you I think that the range in price should be large go to a top hairdresser in London and it can cost you over a weeks wages, or the local barber and it may only be a few pound. Mind you if we could cahnge all that, maybe we should have our charcters hair grow over time, then you would have to use the stylist every so often
/signed, but not expecting it, if they aint done it by now with such an old request dont think they ever will

My ele needs a tan and a new hair style (and a new dance...lol). I'd pay for both.

Way to really keep with the historical theme of the game..
Hairstylists, tanning beds, hmm.
